● Eighteen conferences will take place at the 55th annual meeting of the American Institute of
Chemical Engineers (AIChE), Nov. 16-21 at the San Francisco Hilton & Towers. Topics will range
from traditional chemical engineering disciplines to new research in biochemistry, bioinformatics,
biopharmaceuticals and nanotechnology.
Other conferences will focus on food engineering, plant safety, new medicine delivery systems,
fuel cell technology and green engineering concepts. The keynote address on Nov. 19 will be delivered
by George Stephanopoulos. He is co-director of the laboratory of bioinformatics and metabolic
engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an Arthur D. Little professor of
chemical engineering.
